In a rapidly growing biotechnology company with employees in 18 countries, how do you build a strong corporate culture? How can employees feel empowered to follow their own development paths while staying connected as a team and aligned with the company's shared values?
Our Summer Summit in Algarve, Portugal, in September 2025 became a key moment in our journey. We came together across countries and departments to connect, align, grow, and celebrate. To cite the theme of the Summer Summit—to be unique, to be unified, and to be Nordberg Medical.
At Nordberg Medical, we believe in a workplace culture built on trust, where different voices are heard and respected, where employees feel empowered to be themselves and take charge of their own professional development.
One of the themes of the Summer Summit was unique, which is also one of our company values. We express uniqueness both in our science and in our openness to different viewpoints.
Another theme of the Summer Summit was unified, similar to our company value united. We achieve business success by working as a team, across disciplines and backgrounds, with a commitment to advance medical aesthetics and beyond and ultimately to transform the way people age.
The Summit brought together 113 employees and 25 international speakers at the breathtaking Pine Cliffs Resort, nestled by the ocean and amid lush gardens. The resort was selected to accommodate the whole company, with team-building activities, educational sessions, and experiences designed to support employee engagement and our positive culture.
While beautiful surroundings are certainly connected to a healthy culture and employee well-being, creating a positive company culture requires more. The Summit spanned three carefully planned days, with the first day being especially important, as we all had the opportunity to learn more about different departments.
Nordberg Medical encompasses a wide range of functions, from medical affairs and quality assurance to finance, supply chain, marketing, and sales. In daily work, employees do not always meet or share ideas with colleagues across all these functions.
Discovering more about each department was therefore important to build stronger connections, shaping positive employee experiences, and building employee loyalty across the company.
We are a company driven by science, with the ambition to transform the field of bio regeneration. As we go from scientific vision to therapeutic impact, our organizational success is dependent on everyone having a solid understanding of what we do.
The second day of the Summer Summit was therefore focused on in-depth learning, with medical and marketing education sessions, among others.
Day three was dedicated to helping every employee get to know their own team better and on key takeaways from the previous days. The day concluded with a memorable gala dinner to celebrate everything we have achieved, and everything that lies ahead.
Team-building activities were included throughout the event, to help build a strong culture that impacts employees far beyond the event itself.
As expressed by Esperanza Casas, Strategic Marketing Project Director: “I joined Nordberg Medical in May 2023 as employee number ten,” Esperanza says, smiling at the thought. “Back then, we were a small group with big ambitions. Seeing how much we have grown since then, and being part of shaping that growth, has been an incredible experience that I carry in my heart.”
"This summit was a collective achievement, a reflection of who we are as a company, and proof of what we can accomplish when we bring our unique strengths together."
